From Traveler Brian Nixon
I’ve been in New Mexico and Colorado this week. I was 8 miles outside of a place called Crested Butte when I came upon a line of stopped cars. As we stopped, a forest ranger came up with a man in a skin tight body suit and a luchador mask. We were informed that there was about to be the “chainless world grand prix.” The participants take the chains off their bikes and coast the 8 miles into town and they dress like they’re trying to get on “Let’s Make a Deal” or something. One guy wasn’t dressed at all. At the end of the 8 miles there is beer and fun for everyone. I got a picture of the “ref” at the top of the trail and the others are from the bottom. Keep in mind that all of these people had just coasted 8 miles on bikes dressed EXACTLY as you see them. ENJOY!!!
Below is the ref for the day's events.
